Is it exactly clear as to whether one can still re-marry after divorce? I am not talking about re-marrying the ex-spouse but a new one.
what does this mean? ” Are you loosed from a wife? seek not a wife. But and if you marry, you have not sinned…” (1 corinth 7:27-28).
The bible says that God has set the time, place, sorroundings and the number of years of man on earth, even before he was conceived (acts 17:26).
So we ask, can man still die before his appointed time?

How many of us christians today have died instantly today for lying?
Why did this happen to this couple and does not happen today?
Why do we get away with it and they didn’t?
Please do not say its because they lied to the Holy spirit because that sounds like a lame excuse, as how does one know when one is lying to the Holy spirit or man?
What would you say if someone was to rise today and starts killing people, claiming he or she was commanded by God to do so. Afterall, this took place in the old testament. Right?
if God intended to purge out sin amogst the people, surely He could have done that Himself like He had done before. Why did God use humans to carry out these killings and if you were alive in those days, would you have believed this was an act of God?
How do we explain this to Atheists and the kids we are telling that God is so loving and hates evil?
Our Response,
God does place authorities in man to execute judgement on His behalf.. His prophets were His authorities and were doing exactly as commanded. Confirmed in the new testament, Romans 13:1-4 ’1 Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God. 2 Therefore whoever resists the authority resists the ordinance of God, and those who resist will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have praise from the same. 4 For he is God’s minister to you for good. But if you do evil, be afraid; for he does not bear the sword in vain; for he is God’s minister, an avenger to execute wrath on him who practices evil.
Many christians find it dfficult to accept the true nature of God. They want to accept God as their loving heavenly father but do not want to embrace the fact that He is equally a judge (an incorruptible one for that matter) and also an impartial judge; so much so that He will not even destroy Satan and avenge the blood of His saints until his appointed time, despite the fact that satan has grieved Him plenty. God will never go back on His word… that is why He is God.
But does this justify the death of babies?
To explain this to Atheists and kids will take a book, as one must first explain the true nature of God in order for the reader to understand. We are trusting God for this to happen in due time…
In the mean time, please consider this -Man CAN know the heart of God, ask King David who was not recorded as a prophet in his time but had revelations that other recognised prophets didn’t.
God knows today, tomorrow and eternity… why then did God make man, knowing that man will fall or why even make Lucifer, knowing that he will betray Him?
Being a nigerian, i have noticed amongst our people the sudden awakening that being a true christian, one is not permitted to be financially challenged (broke) or have a serious illness, and therefore alot of pastors have now focused their attention on their new found ‘Revelation’, which by the way, i belive they have adopted from the americans, only, nigerians have taken it to another level, going from building empires to even schools that are not affordable by their own congregation. Is this the work of God?

Point blank: Prosperity teachers are thieves, and whoever believes them deserves whatever they get, as you are just as guilty as the preachers for seeking wealth rather than His kingdom.
God is not a lottery ticket, where in the scriptures does it say that you can multiply your money by putting it in the church. I know the scriptures that are used to support this ideas but guess what?… there is hardly anything in life, whether good or bad that man cannot find a scripture in the bible to support it, if he chooses to.
That book serves as an armour for the people of God and a stumbling block for those who are not.
Whoever is preaching and does not focus on the cross, is preaching a different gospel. Promising people wealth or telling people they cannot be broke because they are born-again is not gospel.
Now ask yourself, why would you prefer to believe otherwise?
What do we say to our youths who ask genuinely ”If there was a God and if this God was so good, why do innocent children die? why do we have natural disasters, still births, victims of paedophilia, starvation in Africa/severe poverty, even the horrible deaths of some christians/missionaries? etc.”
Many christians today may find themselves in situations where they are left asking ‘why is this happening to me when God made so many promises in the bible about saving us from all our troubles’
Unbelievers also make a good case with this, if we can not explain.
God IS faithful…but how does that fit into the above?
OUR RESPONSE
It will be difficult to address this without ending up writing a book, so we are going to make this an opened-debate. I have sometimes wondered if man were able to view things from God’s perspective, it might help shed light on more things.
For example, John the Baptist was prophesied to be the ‘gift of God’ before he was born. Jesus said also that of those born of woman; there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist… but what do we know of his life? He lived in the wilderness, clothed in camel skin, had wild honey for food and eventually beheaded…. What a gift, right?
If we look at the story of king Jeroboam and his ill son (Abijah). The Lord condemned Jeroboam and his entire household to death with shame (corpse to be eaten by dogs and birds) but to his son Abijah, the Lord said he will die and be buried as he is the only one in the household of Jeroboam whom the Lord found anything good…. How nice, right?
If we look at the story of king David and his son. David sinned against God by taking Uriah’s wife and causing his death. Then God punished him by taking away the son born to David by Bathsheba (death)….Poor baby, right?
Amongst others, what about the deaths of all the apostles as history records?
Philip stoned to death AD 54, Barnabas burnt AD 64, Peter crucified upside down AD 64, Paul beheaded in Rome AD 69, Andrew crucified in Achia AD 70, Matthew beheaded in Ethiopia AD 70, Luke hanged in Greece AD 93, Thomas speared to death AD 70, Mark dragged to death in Alexandria AD 64, John abandoned on Patmos AD 63 and so on….
Point is, it will appear that the things that bother us as humans is quite trivial compared to what awaits us in the ‘new age’ in the eyes of God.

The bible says that we are the temple of God (1 corinth 3:16)…. if so, what is the purpose of going to church. why do you go to church?
And if we are the temple of God, what does that make the church building? ….. the house of God?
OUR RESPONSE
The reason for our question is this;
A great number of us go to church on sundays as if it is some kind of task that needs getting out of the way. Many also perceive the church building to be the place where God resides and by going there, they are going to ‘meet with God’.
Infact, where 2 or more are gathered, that is a church; no matter where it is. The building in itself is NOT the house of God.
So, three reasons why we should go to church: to fellowship, growth and building up of others.
1) FELLOWSHIP - This being the most obvious one, we wont be touching on it. (1 Cor 12:12-31, Romans 12:3-8)
2) GROWTH – The purpose of growth is for us to be deeply rooted in the word of God enough that it will be impossible for anything or anybody to sway us (too many false doctrines)…. Eph 4:14-16, 2 Peter 1:5-11
It is irrelevant that pastors may be teaching the wrong things, we are ALL required to study the bible – Hebrews 5:12 “For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God; and you have come to need milk and not solid food”.
Acts 17:11 “These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so”
1 Peter 2:1-3 “Therefore, laying aside all malice, all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and all evil speaking, as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby, 3 if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious”.
3) BUILDING UP OF OTHERS - We are supposed to help others to grow – Romans 15:1-2 “We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. 2 Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification” for example, those who are stronger in faith or more learned in the word should be able to help others who are weaker.
To conclude, bible study is in fact the most important in the life of a christian and not just sunday fellowship as most of us like to believe, hence this blog.
In my study of the bible, I came to realise that although the message of the cross (the gospel), was only fully revealed in the new testament, it was infact what the entirety of the bible had been about from genesis to revelation.
This will show that God’s number 1 priority is the gospel (saving the soul of man). Hence, the scripture…. seek first the kingdom of heaven and everything else will be added onto you. Signifying that His work comes 1st and everything else is secondary.
Therefore, man does the work of God by continously leading people to the message of the cross (the gospel). Not only by sharing the message, but also by assisting in every way possible in the spreading of the news.
